Five Lesbians Eating a Quiche

What do lesbians, quiches and atomic bombs have in common?

Well, It's 1956 and the Susan B Anthony Society for the Sisters of Gertrude Stein are having their annual Quiche Breakfast. When the breakfast is threatened by the red scare, the closet doors blow open as secrets, repressed desires and an insatiable hunger for quiche are released.

Cast Bios:

Adam O'Connor is a Producer and Artist based in Galway City. He has worked with a number of different theatre organizations, most recently taking the role of Festival Director for the ISDA Festival, which took place in April 2022. He, alongside Neal McHugh has also co-founded a new theatre company, Púca Productions, through which he hopes to expand his theatrical visions alongside many other up-and-coming Galway based theatremakers.

Emma Greaney is a final year Drama student, and she is so excited to be attending today's Quiche Breakfast! She works, part-time, as a body builder and she doesn't know what you're expecting, but she knows this breakfast is gonna knock the mittens right off of your hands! Emma has been working a lot on her Quiche-making skills recently and she can whip one up easier than taking candy from a baby.

Molly Fahy is a final year Drama and English Student. She has acted in DramSoc's productions such as Fresher's Showcase, Angels in America, Clown Bar and of course 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche. She is currently Theatre Week Co-Ordinator and is delighted to collaberate with M.Fest on another production of 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche. Enjoy Sisters!

Tara Mackin is a final year Drama and Gaeilge student at UG, hailing from Dundalk, Co. Louth. She is usually found hiding on production teams, but she has emerged from the shadows and taken to the stage to attend today's Quiche Breakfast!

Honor Faughnan is a fourth-year Drama, Theatre and Performance student from rural County Galway. In 2022, she played Iris in 'Flowers Will Grow' (written and directed by Oliver Heffernan) and Aeschylus in Aristophanes' 'Frogs' (directed by Marianne Ní Chinnéide). She also studies Latin, Greek and Old Irish, and has a particular interest in translating, workshopping and performing ancient texts.

Besides being a professional Quiche baker, Saorla Fenton is also in final year of Drama and Irish, in UG. Balancing all that work is hard, but she knows how much her sisters want her quiche, so she makes it work. She has been known to dabble in performing, and if the baking doesn’t work out, a career in acting would be nice. As Vice-Auditor of the Drama Society, she can make quiches for everyone she meets… hey, would you like to try her Quiche?

Lucy Birmingham is a final year drama theatre and performance student. She's no stranger to the backstage having stage-managed many shows in previous years. She's delighted to be involved with this wonderfully whacky show and hopes everyone enjoys it.

Illuminate

Niamh, Wild Woman & CEO of Spiral with Niamh presents Illuminate:

During this session, I will talk about how learning to work with your menstrual cycle can help with so many areas of your life- physical, emotional, career, relationships and so much more. We will go through menstrual cycle, the magic of tracking it, how to move through your month and maybe a little dance at the end. This is not for anyone who is pre- menstrual or currently menstruating, this is also for women who are in peri- or post menopause.

About:

Niamh is an Empowerment & Embodiment Coach and CEO of Spiral with Niamh. Niamh suffered with Endometreosis since the age of 14. Through her many years of experience, trial, error and waiting years for a diagnosis by the medical system. From this, Niamh trained in somatic movement, womb healing, reiki, as a coach and Past Life regression to bring this magic to other women.
